Vitamin A is the main ingredient in Theroptic, which is derived from the beta carotene in a range of vegetables. Research shows that vitamin A plays an important role in eye health. It can improve vision, reduce optical inflammation, reduce eye infections, as well as prevent and heal macular degeneration. However, having a vitamin A deficiency can lead to a number of eye problems, including damage to the retina, clouding of the eye, corneal ulcers and blindness.
When vitamin A is combined with vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc and lutein, the risk of advanced macular degeneration reduces by 25% and for those suffering from retinitis pigmentosa, their peripheral vision can be prolonged. Bilberry extract has also been combined in the Theroptic’s vision care formula, because of its powerful antioxidant properties, which can improve vision, reduce inflammation and fight free radicals. Also, bioflavonoid complex has been included to aid in the absorption of vitamin C, together promoting the health of the delicate blood vessels and capillaries in the retina.
